Who are we?

Our mission is to help high school students find their place in the world and guide them towards personal and professional fulfillment.

Since 2010, our educational program is dedicated to helping students discover their own path by equipping them with key 21st century skills, capabilities and perspectives.

About the position

The company has reached a stage where its size and complexity require a professional manager to take it to the next level. At the same time, the founder/owner is moving on to focus on Engame Academy’s international expansion.

The main goal of the General Manager is to grow the business through existing and new business lines and grow profitability by optimization and professionalisation of the company and processes.

Education is a people oriented business, so having the right amount of sensitivity and empathy is crucial in this role to be able to manage and develop the team.

The General Manager will have three direct reports – Head of Education, Head of Marketing and Head of Operations.

This is a full time position, based in Budapest.

The ideal starting date is the 2nd of January, 2024.

Responsibilities

Formulating and executing the strategy for growth with the management team
Responsibility for the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow with the management team
Providing leadership to the whole team
Developing and nurturing the company’s culture
Representing the company externally

Requirements for the position

Experience in strategy and business development
Senior leadership experience from a startup or an SME 2-5 the size of Engame Academy
Intimate knowledge of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow management and general finance and budgeting
Excellent communication skills
Conversational knowledge of Hungarian
Fluent in English
Bachelor’s or master’s degree (ideally from business management)
