Itt a nyár, ami legtöbbünknek a projektidőszakot jelenti, inspirációképpen készítettünk egy rövid, angol nyelvű interjút Somogyi Csengével, amelyben a tavaly nyári projektjéről beszélgettünk.
Csenge is a 20 years young, ambitious person with a lot of plans and ideas. Apart from her compulsory school work she has a lot of volunteering experience, also, she was part of a donation project and gained work experience too. Later, she would like to study Psychology and Economics. Last summer Csenge did a really exciting project that she shared with us.
Engame Media Society: Can you tell us what was your summer project about and why did you start it?
Somogyi Csenge: Basically, it was a research about the working morale that people had at different companies. First I wanted to find a relevant connection between the actual business type and level of pressure – and prove that companies that are “structured” like multinational companies are the worst, then I realised how little knowledge I have regarding the topic – so I really did compare different companies but instead of focusing on which type could cause the most stress I simply investigated the effects of the working environment on the attitude that the employees had.
EMS: How did you get the information you wanted?
Csenge: There was a survey and then an interview. The survey’s total score was 110 points per person 440 per company: that would be the ideal, peaceful, perfect environment. It was assembled to find out whether the employees are aware of their role in the whole process (60p), if they get help or enough feedback on their work (140p) and to measure the freedom they get (180p). Also, to find out what are those factors that are essential for everyone to maintain the good attitude towards their job (40p).
The interviews were a bit personal – we were talking about working pets for example.
EMS:You mentioned workplace pets, what was the participants opinion?
Csenge: All together, the majority of the participants think that pets should not be allowed in the offices – except the creative company. I was pretty interested in boosting productivity with pets and this experience showed that this could be effective but only with a lot of compromise.
EMS: Do you have any tips for students, who would like to study abroad?
Csenge: Don’t waste too much energy on finding out where could you work after uni – just focus on what you are interested! 🙂
